EP: 10 Burnout- once, twice, three times....really?
In this podcast, we delve into the multifaceted issue of burnout and its recurrence. We explore whether it's possible to experience burnout more than once and, if so, how to prevent it in ourselves and those around us. I share my personal story, highlighting the immense stress I'm currently facing due to a demanding workload, recent divorce, moving houses, and taking care of aging parents. Through this candid reflection, we identify various warning signs of burnout such as constant crying, decision-making difficulties, physical symptoms like numbness, and sleep disturbances.
We offer practical strategies for managing burnout, emphasizing the importance of setting boundaries, asking for help, and managing time effectively. Key points include scheduling personal activities like gym sessions or lunch breaks, focusing on one task at a time instead of multitasking, and maintaining a positive mindset by breaking down large tasks into manageable steps. Additionally, we stress the significance of self-awareness, mindful interactions, and nurturing supportive friendships. By integrating these practices, we aim to bring a healthier balance between work and life, ultimately fostering resilience against burnout.
